As a nation, we are being constantly encouraged to improve our health and mental wellbeing. The NHS and others say healthy diets and exercise go a long way to keeping well and minimising health scares.
More and more of us are following this good advice. Physical activities such as cycling, running and simply walking are seeing huge surges in interest and participation.
While more sedate activities like gardening, amateur dramatics and bowls are equally busy doing much for general wellbeing and social interaction n the community. A big challenge is to make residents more aware of activities, right on their doorstep, that will help them boost their health and mental well being.
